  Is this the site of the Willow Island disaster 51 construction workers killed 1978 or 1979 when building cooling towers, scaffolding was suspended on newly built concrete rather than built up from the ground (to save costs) no testing, no training, no proper investigation, almost erased from history (short wikipedia story) firm find $1700 per dead worker. May they rest in peace.

  I was the station lubricator for 28yrs.The cooling tower collapsed on 04/28/78 a little after nine.I saw it fall.I was a Janitor from 12/01/77-10/18/78,When Unit 1 went on line.10/18/78-I became the lube man and stayed in that job until I retired on 06/01/06. Good career,I liked working there.
