Key Power systems really knows what they’re doing. They are prompt, honest and very failing terms if pricing. I had a couple of other companies come look at my generator which didn’t run and they’re placed the battery with the wrong size battery and the cover wouldn’t close, and it still wouldn’t run and they said they needed to remove my generator and “take it to the shop” in order to complete repairs which would cost a minimum of several hundred dollars. I fortunately was referred by a friend to Key Power Systems and the repair technician repaired everything and got it to run perfectly on my premises, and tuned it up all in about 90 minutes for a fraction of the amount of money. I promise they will not disappoint. I will say in full disclosure that I am not related to or friends with anyone who works at the company, and my relationship is entirely business.

Highly knowledgeable, professional and courteous staff! May be the only company capable of repairing residential standby generators in Western New York. My Kohler RES12 standby generator failed after 9 years last autumn. The electrician who sold and installed the system wanted nothing to do with repairs (typical in this industry - but not Key Power Systems). The Kohler distributor for this region responded quickly (and expensively) but the problem remained. They finally suggested it might be cheaper to have the original electrician replace the unit. Since the generator had only 150 hours of use (99% of it in exercise mode) I felt that was ridiculous. In desperation, after searching in vain for a company that might be able to service my Kohler standby generator, I tried contacting Key Power Systems. The receptionist transferred me to Chris who listened to my description of the problem, researched possible solutions, called back the same day to schedule visit within the week and kept his appointment. When he arrived, he began to diagnose the problem, confirmed his suspicion of the cause and discussed options to repair the unit with me. Within 3 hours of his arrival, he diagnosed the problem, explained the solution (he brought the necessary part with him), was able to repair and start the unit and finish the job. Nine months of frustration resolved in 3 hours. If you are considering a standby generator for your home, Key Power Systems should be the only call you consider making. Benefit from my experience.

I was charged $200 to tell me they needed to completely take apart my generator to actually find the source of the problem? Not going any further with this group! Update 4 years later my generator still works absolutely fine! Not sure what this group was up to?
