I would like to say Cary and Brian did an excellent job on my house. I highly recommend these guys. I had a very large job with my 1950’s house I’m currently renovating, and Cary didn’t hesitate to step up to the plate considering the amount of work there was to do. Cary will give you a honest bid and take care of your problems in a timely manner. I wouldn’t hesitate to give them a call.

Great company to work with. I called AC Desert Electric to help with my home renovation. They helped ensure my old aluminum wire house is safe and upgraded the lighting in the kitchen and garage. They were professional, left no mess and were affordable. I recommend this company!

These guys came out to my moms house to hang 2 pendant lights. My mom told them they were high ceilings but we didn’t have exact measurements. The appointment was at 8 and they didn’t communicate to their employees because they showed up at 7. Mind you my mom has a renter right now at the house and that was inconvenient because with renters you can’t just show up early without asking. My mom had to speed there to meet with them. I made the mistake of not checking measurements before ordering the lights so one of them didn’t work. The other one they couldn’t work on because there was a huge glass table in the way that needed to be moved first. So they didn’t do any work except measure the height so I can order the correct lights. They charged my mom $81 for zero work. Also keep in mind my mom is deaf. So I had the owner call me because I felt like they took advantage of her. He told me that he pays his employees $60 an hour and they still need to paid and they waited for an hour so they totaled $81. To me that’s business’s regardless you don’t charge someone and not do any work just because you don’t want to lose money on paying your employees. It’s not our fault you guys decided to show up an hour early. I can understand charging her $40 for the gas and time. But to charge a deaf woman that for ZERO work. There were so many ways they could have handles that. The owner has no ethics and horrible way to run a business. I am so glad she paid $81 to have someone come measure how high her ceilings are. Reply: I don’t think you are understanding. Everything else was just minor issues. The topping on the cake was charging $81 dollars for a job that was not completed. I called to make the appointment myself. Of course we told you guys the ceilings were high. If they were not high then we would have done it ourselves. You don’t charge someone when you do not complete the job. The owner told me himself she was charged because he would have lost out on money for having to pay your employees. Of course she seemed like she was fine with it. She is deaf. She knows she can’t sit there and talk to someone about being taken advantage of. Which is why she waited until she got home to tell me what happened so I could call on her behalf. Maybe you should educate yourself on disabilities.
Response from the owner
Rachel, I am sorry you did not like the way we handled business today. Your mother who was our customer seemed happy with our service and did not have any issues when we were there. We got the request to do an interior lighting install and responded in a timely matter. In our 25+ years of being in business we have done business with hundreds of customers with different disabilities, language barriers, and have never been accused of being unethical or insensitive to their needs. Our technician apologized to your mother for misreading his work order and showing up early. We also apologized to you over the phone for the miscommunication, and any inconvenience we may have caused to your mother having to show up earlier than scheduled. We were unaware that this was a tenant situation and were also not notified of ceiling heights. Ceilings over 14 feet require a ladder taller than 8 feet which is what we normally carry on the truck, had we been informed of the ceiling height we would have made sure the technician had the correct ladder. The technician informed your mother the first fixture would not work in the area she wanted due the fixture being too small for the area it was going in. Your mother agreed and boxed it up herself because she was not satisfied with the fixture as well. The second fixture would not work for the area over her table because the wiring was too short. With her ceilings being 16 feet tall and the wiring on the fixture only being 10 inches she would need to purchase a much larger fixture with longer wiring for this area. This fixture was over a glass table that weighs 300+ pounds that would need to be moved before we could work on the light. We as electricians cannot move furniture due to the liability of it being damaged. Also the fixture originally in this location is a chandelier, the technician informed her the crystals would need to be removed before hand by the owner so no damage is done to the chandelier by us, and also so she would know how to put it back together when she gets it to the new location. Our normal labor rate for her area is $90 for the first hour and $60 each additional. She was made aware of our rates by office staff before we were dispatched out. Our technician was there for over 1 hour. We gave your mother a 10% discount on the labor and only charged her for 1 hour since the job could not be completed at this time. The technician informed her of the type of fixture she needed to purchase for future instillation. You agreed on the phone that the technician needed some form of compensation for coming out and assessing the job. I am sorry you do not agree with our pricing, but your mother who was the customer did not have a problem with the amount charged when she paid our technician. If your mother did have an issue with the pricing at the time of service, we would have worked with her.
