The original appointment was very timely and the needed parts were located and promptly ordered. I was kept aware by Arctic of the progress of the order and promptly called when they came in. The technician was back out within about 30 minutes and replaced the part. He was very personable and informative. I will use Arctic again.

Great service from Arctic Air.  They arrived in a timely manner, did a flawless installation and cleaned up after themselves.

I have never owned an Amana A/C and am in hopes that it will last as long as my last A/C-Heating system.  It has a great warranty!

My AC went out on a Sunday evening. I turned my claim into American Home Shield that same evening and before I even left for work on Monday Arctic Air was calling to schedule a service technician to come out that day. It was determined that I needed a complete new indoor/outdoor unit. They got back with me on Tuesday morning to discuss options. After deciding what I wanted to do  I was advised that they could come out on Friday to install the unit. This was the hottest week of June with temps over 100 degrees and with no AC it was very warm in my house. To my surprise Melanie called me on Thursday morning and said she was trying to fit me in that day so I wouldn’t have to wait until Friday. I was completely shocked that she cared enough to get my new unit installed a day early. Melanie and Arctic Air are the BEST. I would highly recommend them to anyone with HVAC needs.

My A/C stopped cooling the house, so I called my home warranty company, American Home Shield. They assigned Arctic Air to look at the unit. I called them directly to set up the appointment and was told by the operator that I would be called back in a few minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, I called again. “He’ll call you in just a few!”. Well, okay. I wait thirty minutes, and call again. Still no word. SIX phone calls later, the phone operator let me know she would be contacting the manager, who would call shortly. Okay. I wait ANOTHER 30 minutes, no call. So I call back. Three hours have passed now, since my original phone call. I was told by the phone operator that Melonie (the manager) had attempted to call me and received no answer, resulting in her leaving a voicemail. That’s odd, because I had my phone on and with me all day, and had made and received several calls during that time...none of which included talking to Melonie. I had no voicemails on my phone. SO, after three hours playing phone tag, here’s the result: I NEVER spoke to ANYONE but the two phone operators who had no information, no one came to service my unit, I was LIED to by the manager, and it is 87 degrees in my house. I contacted my home warranty company, got refunded and set up with another company. This is not the first bad experience I have had with Arctic Air. I have had them removed from my warranty contract. 0/10 DO NOT USE! terrible customer service, and a dishonest business.

I was sorry to hear about the bad experience you brought out in your review.  This was very troubling to me so I reviewed the detail of it thoroughly with everyone involved.  We did receive a call from your warranty company which was electronically dispatched to us by your warranty company at 5:52pm. (after we closed for the day at 5pm). Chris our on call technician was contacted by our answering service after you called our office shortly after the dispatch was sent from the warranty company.  He was in an attic working on a unit and he requested our office manager contact you on his behalf so as not to delay replying to you.  I have a screen shot of her telephone where she called your number at 6:43pm. I will gladly email this screen shot to you if you would provide us an email address. The call (screen shot documented) lasted 30 seconds which is about the right amount of time to make a call and leave a message.  Melanie insists she did do this which is supported by this screen shot from her cell phone.  Your call was dispatched by your warranty company as normal status which does not allow for after hours service to be paid for nor does it get processed out to our after hours on call technicians by the warranty company under this normal status.  Your payment you mention above was made by you directly to the warranty company and never was made to us.  It was never in jeopardy consequently as we do not bill the warranty company anything until all the work is completed.  We were voted best of the west and best of Lubbock last year and many prior years.  We pride ourselves in providing prompt and caring service.  We are truly sorry you feel we somehow failed to service you in a timely manner.

I have used Arctic Air for years now. They are absolutely the BEST at what they do!  The people are so easy to work with and they explain everything!

Melanie is the absolute best!  She worked me into the schedule as soon as she could when my AC died this past Friday.  They whole bunch has worked so that my old unit will be replaced tomorrow before the next round of 100 plus heat!  Highly recommend them.  Just communicate what you need and want, and they will work with you!

I called our warranty provider on our upstairs AC going out and they sent the info to Arctic Air, by far the best  thing that could have happened.  I was called in about 10 mins by Arctic Air and they had a guy there within 30 mins.  Unit is 20 years old and was on its last leg, I was presented with several options on repair or replace, I wanted it replaced and that’s when Mel takes over. She is absolutely fantastic to work with and she works fast, unit was replaced in 24 hrs. Melonie made it so easy with great details and easy to understand financing options that it was a no brainer.  Heck Mel and Arctic Air was so great that I also replaced a downstairs AC unit as well.  If your not using Arctic Air and Mel you are missing out, they will always have my business!!

I called American Home Shield and they sent these folks to my house. The technician said that I had a hole in my evaporative cooling lines that needed to be repaired and needed Freon (the technician wrote this on the paperwork he left with us).. Ok, it is an older system and that is common. I have paperwork that the guy left proving this.

The next day I get a call from Arctic with a guy hard selling me a whole new system for almost 6K (I don't have that kind of $) I turned him down and said I would like to have it repaired. They reported to the warranty company that the problem was a failed compressor due to the unit being too small for the house. An issue they knew that the warranty company will not cover. First of all, I admit,  the unit is a bit small, however it has worked fine up till a week ago. Secondly, the compressor did NOT fail, not at all. The problem with the system has nothing to do with the size of the unit. They purposely mis-reported the problem to not have to do the repair. After some investigation with another AC company that services for AHS I found out if the problem was actually a hole in the coil as first diagnosed they would have had to fix it. HOWEVER AHS does not pay enough to make it profitable so when they couldn't manipulate me into a new unit they burned me and the job.

I called Arctic on their LIE and the manager told me it was "mistake" and promised that she would call AHS and correct their detailed report but she did not and AHS denied the claim and closed the case. (thanks for nothing)

NOW here is the fun part. I called and paid for another (far more reputable company) to check it out. Turns out Arctic misdiagnosed the initial problem to begin with. There NO LEAK and all it needed was a little yearly maintenance and 2# of refrigerant. So I paid for the call and for the Freon and for the wasted money that these people cost me with the warranty company.

This company is manipulative and dishonest, If they do not want to honor home warranties they should stop accepting the calls instead of just messing with clients and costing us money. Never again with these people.

A thorough review has been made regarding what occurred at your home by all involved.  Your home warranty company is ultimately the one to make the decision.  We simply provide the diagnosis they require us to provide.  We are always sorry to have an upset customer.  A simple mistake was made when typing in the failed part and it was corrected as you were promised it would be.  Your warranty company has that corrected information they can verify as well.  We do stand behind there being a leak as our technicians use quality leak detection equipment to find leaks.  If it needed a little freon that evidences it is escaping some way.  There are dozens of air conditioning companies in Lubbock and Arctic Air is most often voted best of the west and best of lubbock by our customers out of all those companies.  We truly are sorry your experience fell short of that.  When working with your warranty company we have constraints that we must follow and guidelines they require us to meet when turning in a full and comprehensive diagnosis.

My A/C quit working around 8pm on Friday night. Temps had hit 100 degrees at one point during the day, so it was a very warm evening. I put in the service request to my home warranty company and tried to not be too anxious over not being able to do my own research and select my own company. Turns out, I didn't need to worry, they selected a great contractor. I received a call at 830 Saturday morning and the technician was here by 1030. He knew exactly what to check and got it fixed in less than 10 minutes. So grateful for their speedy and professional service! I was prepared to have to wait till Monday, but they got me taken care of very quickly. He answered all of my questions with professionalism and patience. Made sure I understood what he fixed. Very happy with their service and would love to work with them again.
