Mr. Burtner came out, and it was immediately clear he had exceptional experience and knowledge.  He had actually done work in the building on several previous occasions and he knew the tenants of both buildings we went to.  He was very thorough and explained the electrical situation very clearly.  He cut to the chase and didn’t try to talk over my head.  He was honest that if the electric was serviceable and didn’t need upgraded - he said so, and he didn’t try to sell me on unnecessary upgrades.  I left feeling very comfortable with his knowledge and experience and recommendations.  No doubt I will be using his company for all future electric work.  Thank you Mr. Burtner and Burtner Electric!

Such a nice and respectful business. Had no issues at all was very respectful and understanding. Definitely one of the best electrical companies I've ever hired. I was recommended landon Davis for the job and he was outstanding never seen someone put so much heart and passion into their work. Hope to see more respectful honest young men like that around. His coworkers spoke very highly of him I could definitely see why.

They installed a chandelier on a 20 foot ceiling.  Finished assembling and installing the fixture in 1.5 hours!  Also installed a dimmer switch.  The  price paid was very reasonable.  Thanks!

Employees are not certified electricians. Very unprofessional, especially the guy named Landon. He was rude and using derogatory language towards his coworkers. It was not my place to say anything but I would be ashamed to have an employee on my staff who acted like that.

Jodi acted with no class, very rude.  She did not let me even speak before she spoke to me with an aggressive tone trying to make me feel incompetent.  I have never written a review before but this bothered me that she could speak to another person the way she did.  No one at front desk when walked in and decided to start blaming before asking any questions.  After politely knocking before barely Sticking my head in (on an already wide open door, did not touch or open the door).  Her customer (or employee)  in lobby actually pointed me that way.  The proper response to “Hi, how are you today?” Is not get defensive and get heated but rather to say “could you please check in with the front desk, she will be up there shortly if she wasn’t there when you walked in”.  Simple manners is all that most people ask for in a conversation.

If you are the stranger that walked into our office and bypassed the front desk and walked unannounced into the office of the owner of the company without an appointment, them my name is Jodi and not Wendy.  I was working on a project with sensitive employee information on my desk in my private office and it was not appropriate for you to walk freely around our office where you would have access to  view that information.  Please use decorum and proper social manners in the future.  I did ask you to leave your card at the front desk and you chose not to do that.

David Burtner, the owner, came to my house to quote on a panel upgrade in our older house and also assist with the underground conversion. The quote, while competitive, was not the cheapest, but we decided to work with them based upon a recommendation from a friend who had a job successfully completed. While the first impression was good (punctuality and quote time), scheduling was a bit of a challenge with the best time being offered as two weeks from the conversation. We accepted that and arranged trenching work and IPL underground line provisioning. Then, out of nowhere, we got an email to say that they were short staffed and would not do the work as we neared the time. While we found another electrician, we did not find it professional to suddenly be dropped after other services had been scheduled to complete associated work. Based upon my friend's experience, they can be ok, but beware that they seem to be prepared to drop work as it suits them.

I asked Burtner for a quote on an investment property (duplex) in Indianapolis. I clearly explained that it was a tenant occupied duplex with a lockbox for contractors. The day he went to do the estimate one of the tenants refused to let him in. Unfortunately that's how it goes with tenants sometimes. He emailed me 48 hours later and said he didn't want the job and wouldn't give me a quote. It makes sense that he didn't want the job since a former employee posted a review and said he's racist..both tenants are black.

Came to fix underground wiring. Repair worked for about thirty min. Called immediately. Took two months for them to return & they said they had already fixed it. Very rude people. Warning! Don't use.

Mr. Burtner did a quote for Mr. Campbell on July 9, 2020.  At that time, he and the homeowner walked out to where the plumber had done work on an outdoor spicket and the homeowner showed us the break in the line where the plumber hit it and damaged it. The homeowner stated that it was about 4 feet down and we determined that we needed a backhoe to get to the wire.  The quote stated that it was for the cost to repair the underground connection on the electrical wiring. At this time, the customer did not mention more than one cut in the line.  He pointed out only one cut and signed the quote for one to be completed.
We tried to meet the schedule of the homeowner and the company that usually does the trenching was backed up.  We made a special effort to do his work on a Saturday which we rarely do. We rented the backhoe equipment from a local and reputable equipment rental company.  The statement that we don’t have the people or the equipment to do the work is inaccurate.  It would not be cost efficient for us to purchase a backhoe that we might use once or twice a year, thus, we contract the work out or we rent the equipment. The trailer carrying the trencher malfunctioned and caused the trailer to come off and it tore the bumper off of our vehicle.  This is one of those things that happens and it was not intentional.  At that point, we were thankful that it did not cause an accident, injure or kill anyone and the homeowner was worried that he was inconvenienced.
We then determined that it was best to have our trenching company do the work and we got Mr. Campbell on their schedule as soon as they could get it worked in.  When Garver finished their work, we were on the job that same day and dug up the wire, fixed it and the job was complete.  The work was completed within 5 weeks and not the two month timeframe that the customer mentioned in the review. The homeowner paid his bill and the issue the customer called about was finished. His check was dated for August 13th which shows that it did not take 2 months.  If the fuse popped again within an hour as Mr. Campbell stated, I would have imagined that he would have called us and advised us of that but we were not advised of it popping again.
Mr. Campbell called us to have more work done.  Why would he call us for additional work if he felt that we had not completed the first job? He asked us to change 2- 220 volt outlets to 110volt outlets.  We sent Travis to do the work.  We could not do the work because the proper wiring was not there, the wire that was there was exposed and not up to the National Electrical Code. It was not the proper wiring and we were afraid that this would be a fire hazard. Mr. Campbell insisted that Travis do the work anyway and he advised that he could not do the work.  We did not charge the homeowner for this service call although it cost us money to get our employees to his house.  Travis advised us that Mr. Campbell would need an estimate to complete this second job.  Mr. Burtner was then scheduled to do an estimate for this wiring issue.
When Mr. Burtner showed up to the estimate, the customer was verbally shouting at him and saying that we did not fix the break in the line.  He did not have a mask on and was screaming in Mr. Burtner’s face.  The issue was that the plumber had cut the line in another location and the homeowner did not advise us of that issue when we repaired the line on September 13th. Mr. Burtner informed the homeowner that he was not going to talk to him that way. At that time, the customer verbally threatened Mr. Burtner and Mr. Burtner left the job.  The customer then called into our office and was out of control.  Mr. Burtner advised the office staff that we would not do any further work for Mr.  Campbell.

I had a situation where an unexpected electrical scenario came up and I contacted multiple electricians. Out of 15 companies I spoke to and sent pictures to about 8. After receiving my pictures the receptionist emailed back saying she had spoken with a couple of their guys and we would need to "gut" the entire house including most walls to have it rewired. This was so incorrect and unprofessional I just rolled my eyes. After thinking about it though, I thought about customers that might not do their homework or know better so I'm posting this. **They did not give me an actual quote or do any work for me.

scheduled for three bathroom fans/light to be installed.  Both guys showed up on time and couldn't be more pleasant.  Not only did they do the work in less time than they thought, the cost to do the job was very reasonable.  I have found a lifetime electrician.
