I received no notice that my power would be disconnected if it wasn’t paid by a certain date. They said they had no control over the mail service and it wasn’t their fault that I didn’t receive a notice they supposedly sent out about my power being shut off. Unbeknownst to me, that the day they planned on turning off my power, I made a $100 payment. They turned my power off an hour and a half later. With an additional $170 charge to reconnect my power, and $100 reinstatement fee rolled onto my next bill. NEVER in over two years of dealing with this company had we ever been late on a payment. They said if I would have called yesterday I could have avoided all of these extra charges and I could have made a payment arrangement. 12 hour difference, that’s all. I asked why they didn’t call or email me to let me know that this was going to happen so that I could have been more prepared, and they had zero explanation. On top of that, our bill keeps getting higher and higher and we are very conscious of how we conserve our energy use in our home and yet we still have over a $200 bill when it used to be around $130. None of it makes sense. They do not support military families, and they are literally the greediest company I’ve ever dealt with. I will be reporting them to the BBB and make sure to let anyone buying a home to find out who their electric company will be, and if it happens to be canoochee , run far away. Worst experience I’ve ever had.

I just want to leave a good review for once. The office staff were amazing, very friendly and got our account transferred to our new place in a manner of minutes. We have been with Canoochee for over eight years and have had no major issues. Any power issues we did encounter, i.e. hurricanes, were taken care of in a timely manner.

overpriced. I've been living in my home for over 3 years and i regret buying a home where they provide electricity. helpful tip: before purchasing a home please verify if they will be handling your electric services. it will save money and a headache. if numerous of people are complaining, there has to be something wrong with the company. before i moved here, i was with Georgia power and never seen a bill higher than 125. now, i see a bill of 250+. smh
