  I love my utilities bill. I lived in Gainesville for years under the thumb of GRU...easily 3 times my bill here in Columbia County.

  They have had people out here for two weeks trimming trees and making so much noise I can't sleep. I works nights. I could have cut up the whole tree in less time. It's totally ridiculous. You can't contact anyone at Clay Electric either. You just get the run around.

  If you have an option to choose another company, do so. I unfortunately am bound to clay electric because they’re the only ones who service my area. During covid they sent out letters stating they weren’t cutting off service etc “pay as you can, hard times” I was really impressed with them. But since then, in a matter of ONE month my power bill jumped 80 dollars? It’s higher than it’s been in the 5 years I’ve owned this home. They never come read our meter so I’m not sure where that price gouging came from. I’m assuming because they haven’t been getting paid since they sent those letters out. Called to speak with someone, got a woman named Nancy who brought me to tears with how rude she was. Nancy started by asking my account number, which I gave her, and she then asked for me name, when I told her my name she said that’s not what’s on the account, I repeated my account number and SHE TOLD ME I SAID IT WRONG the first time? She literally blamed me for her mistake. But that’s ok. The conversation only got worse from there, I hope none of you encounter this woman, if you do be on your toes she’s vicious and condescending. I’ve gotten in touch w BBB thankfully and they’re assisting me so I don’t have to deal with this company personally. Oh and the power goes out EVERY week. Even if it’s not raining. -10/10 would NOT recommend
