  A note if you are buying a house in the area; ask the realtor if the property will be serviced by Covington or Alabama Power. If they say Covington or cannot answer, thank them for their time and leave. Covington is a deal-breaker. Regular random blackouts, absurd pricing, terrible hours and service.

  No problems with the staff or website, but never have I ever had my power turned off for being a few days past due. Would not accept a partial payment, couldn't do an extension, no payment plans... Bill had to paid in full plus a re-connection fee TODAY. Keep in mind our country is slowly recovering from the COVID19 pandemic and people out of work.. I know friend and family with Alabama Power that are 3-4 months behind and have plenty of help and options with that company. I wish I had known how different Covington ran their business before purchasing a house under their area. Would not recommend and cannot wait to move.

  So I just got my place on Thursday and went online and started the new service membership. Well they got back to me around mid day Friday while I was at work and unable to check my emails and the text they sent had a wrong number on it. So I get back home and call them try to figure the situation out. The after hours answer and told me I won't be able to have power all weekend and they can't help me. Now I have a ton of groceries and animals that will be stuck in this alabama weather. Terrible service
