My Mom, sister Leigh and I moved into our new home in July not realizing just how bad the electrical system was. We have been going through a lot with losing several family members over the last 3 years so when we found out just had bad things were, we were overwhelmed and scared as we didn't have anyway to pay only about 80% upfront. They were kind and considerate and worked with us so we will have heat to survive this coming winter. I am NOT being over dramatic but am stating facts. We didn't have a way to heat our home until they came and replace the basement panel and upgraded our 100 amp service to a 200 amp service. They have been a tremendous blessing to us and want to thank them for the compassionate treatment to us. Thanks ever so much.

Thank you Jerri. We were happy to help and glad to know you will be staying warm this winter.

They were great! Got here earlier than expected, found the problem quick repaired it quick and we're up front about the cost of repairs.

I seldom write reviews for folks, but was truly disappointed in Discount Electrical. The work seemed to be OK, but the rates were far from “discount”. The guy who quoted the work said it would be about $75 of materials, and 2 hours to do the work, and quoted $425.00. That’s $175/hour. I assumed perhaps he was just estimating high ‘just in case’ and that when the work was complete he’d true up the real cost. No dice. The materials I bought were about 6 feet of conduit, a junction box, about 30-40 feet of electrical wire, and a 30-amp fuse. On the labor, I had 1 guy who was here for about 20 minutes and a second guy for a full hour. Not only was the $75 for materials rounded way up, we’re still looking at $350 for the labor. $175 for each guy for the time and effort that was spent. I forwarded the company their Invoice with a concern at the amounts charged, but never received any response. Since I agreed to their estimate, I feel obligated to pay, but will not be calling them again.

Jim, hiring a licensed electrician to wire your water heater was a smart decision. We are insured, licensed and very well trained. You could have hired a handyman but likely would have had issues with the installation and maybe a few holes in your ceiling from them climbing thru your attic or burnt wiring from them drilling into other live circuits. Thank you for letting us know how efficient our men were on your job. I recommend you price the same job with another licensed electrician before you post such a poor review. You might find you got a real bargain.
