Visited the lake to walk the trail.  It was a nice, peaceful nature trail to walk around the whole lake.  Whole trip was a little over 3 miles.  Most of the trail is paved, but some is gravel and sand.  Dog friendly as well which is great.  Enjoyed our time here.

I love this place. I’m a birdwatcher from the UK and always visit when I come to see my friends in Ozark. Lovely lake, calm and beautiful environment, a great fairly flat loop around the lake and some brilliant birds to be seen with little effort.

Best County lake fishing there is PERIOD!! Staff is super friendly and courteous. Great place for a family outing or to just relax with you and the Mrs. Check it out and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!

Great place for fishing and hiking. Nice trail around the like you can fish off the bank anyway with a 3 dollar permit in addition to your fishing license.

Had such a fantastic walk today! The trail is pretty long, a little over three miles to get back to the parking lot. It's very shaded which is perfect for the summer. It is mostly paved, some gravel and some wooden bridges. Careful though the bridges are a bit slippery when wet! The lake is beautiful and visible for most of the walk. There are plenty of ducks and geese to observe and some other wildlife. We will be back for sure. Definitely appreciate a good shaded trail here in the Alabama heat.

We were in the area for about 3 months and this was one of our favorite places to go as a family. Beautiful lake! The trail around the lake is about 3.5 miles. I took my three kids (6,3, and 1) and a wagon for riding once they were over walking and it always worked out great! Loved looking for mushrooms and stopping to see the signs with the different types of bats and fish that are posted.

All of that makes my heart happy!  So glad that you and your family had the Lake to enjoy.  Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for the wonderful review!

No... Had to pay almost $50.00. For permits and licenses to fish only to NOT EVEN CATCH ANYTHING. And it's not the first time. I don't believe there are any fish in those waters.  Only to be standing by the truck putting chairs up. And get bothered by game warden wanted fishing license. SO WHY IF IM NOT WITH A POLE IN MY HAND.  Then they bothered my son cause he walking off to go do something. Not a pole in his hand either. So HELL WITH THAT LAKE!!!

This lake is so beautiful and has an excellent trail for walking but the fishing has to be incredible. It was closed the day we were there but hope to go back one day to fish!!!
