During recent work by Gaddie Electric, we asked the crew supervisor about additional work, and were told that it would take approximately 8 hours. We agreed to the extra expense, understanding that it might take a little more time than predicted. We were shocked, however, when the bill arrived for roughly three times what we expected, although with no specifics regarding time and materials. We had talked with the supervisor numerous times throughout the day and were never informed of the immense increase in cost due to labor or materials. We had expressly said that we were trying to keep the cost down, and that we were willing to remove drywall to limit time spent pulling wire. Rather than talk with us, the electricians cut over a dozen holes in the drywall, which obviously added to the labor cost. The damage was so extensive, that the drywall had to be replaced, along with substantial patching. When we called Gaddie Electric to schedule the completion of the work, we learned that the bill we had received was only for the initial work, and there would be another (large) bill to cover the crew’s repair and finishing work. We were told that materials for the re-wiring of our two small (8x11’) rooms involved over $800 in materials and 20 hours of labor, but when we asked for a breakdown of the materials, our request was denied. We had agreed to the work in good faith that the estimate of 8 hours of labor would be reasonably close to the final amount, and that the company would honor what we were told by the supervisor. To have no explanation and to have a final bill (potentially) 4-5 times higher than anticipated, forced us to cancel the finishing work by Gaddie and scramble for another solution days before friends were to visit and use the rooms. We are obviously very dissatisfied with the company and their treatment.

This review is not an accurate representation of what occurred. While we had electricians working at the home the home owner asked what the opinion of the electrician was about how long it would take to do a remodel, no exact opening count, blue print or exact scope of work was provided, no pricing was discussed only hours, technicians are not trained or knowledgeable in estimating and pricing of materials and labor etc. What basis the customer used to decide what 8 hours would cost is unknown to us. Would it be 8 hours for 1 man or 3 men? This is the clarity an estimate brings to the table. The construction industry has experienced unprecedented price increases for materials. What basis did the customer use to determine cost of materials? The customer did not request an estimate, the employee is not an estimator and simply gave an opinion on a vague question, finished the existing estimated job, and was paid. An estimate would have established the full exact scope of work to be completed and what the cost of that work would be. The work our technician was doing for the customer at the time was based on a written estimate so the owner is aware we have an estimator and used him before for the previous project, and we would expect them to again request an estimate for the remodel. A few weeks later they asked us to send a crew out to do their remodel without an estimate because they were happy with the previous job, we did the work at time and material rates which is standard when no estimate has been requested. We provided a verbal break down of the charges as requested and offered to come to the home to walk the job and go over the pricing on site, the owner declined our offer and did not request a written break down which we would happily provide. Nothing was said to us about drywall issues until this review and it's rare to need to cut drywall to the extent discussed in this review. By declining our offer to come walk the job, we are conveniently unable to assess or address the drywall situation. We can only assume there is some embellishment of the drywall damage as there is with the rest of the customer's review. Again drywall repairs are addressed in our estimating process. The customer put the job on hold and said they would get back to us. They did not express that they were unhappy with the work only the price. The customer simply did not do their due diligence, they rushed forward into a remodel with very limit information and a lot of assumptions, and did not fully pay their bill... please call us. We moved their job up in a fully booked schedule to accommodate their unexpected guests. We regret they are unhappy and we are still open to trying to resolve their issues and bring the remodel to a successful finish.

We had a “House GFCI” outlet in the garage that was charging my drill battery so it looked like it was in working condition. However everything down line from there wasn’t getting electricity at all. Gaddie Electric came out and found the culprit immediately and fixed the problem. Justin and his apprentice Alex did a great job! Thank you!!! I would recommend this business for sure as they came to my home the very next day after I called them. I didn’t even get a call back from the other electric businesses I left messages with yesterday.
