  Mark Dahlgren is a great carpenter! He is also a licensed electrician. He was referred to me by the owner of a painting company who highly recommended him. I had a number of things that needed to be done. Mark came by and we walked around the house and identified areas of house trim rot. I also wanted a screen to replace the old one that was in the flower bed by my patio. I asked him to fix a few inside doors that were sticking, and he did. And I wanted a new mailbox post. He did it all and then some. He replaced rotten trim wood in several places around the roofline of my home. He had to detach the gutters in order to do so. The gutters had been installed improperly and did not drain correctly. The sections sloped away from the down spouts instead of toward them. In addition to the gutter nails, some sections had unnecessary numerous extra nails and screws attaching it to the wood trim. After the paint on the new wood dried, he then cleaned out shingle silt and rehung the gutters correctly. Unfortunately, there were many issues with our 35-year-old gutters. They were hung in several sections and the sections overlapped at the corners of the roof. The overlapping areas were never sealed to prevent water from leaking out onto the trim boards. He sealed all seams where the old gutters overlapped so no water would leak out of the gutter causing future board rotting. He replaced a broken outside security light fixture. He replaced my mailbox post. He also designed and built a screen for my patio flower bed. It is beautiful and very sturdy. See photo. Mark arrived when he said he would each morning and worked steadily throughout the day. He would explain what he was doing and showed me the things that needed to be corrected or replaced. His work was exemplary. He was a professional through and through. He was respectful and pleasant. He cleaned up his work area at the end of the day and you would not know he had sawed wood or painted there. The next morning, he would arrive on time and set up and go to work. I was really impressed with his integrity, professionalism, his work ethic, and his workmanship. I highly recommend Mark.

  For the last 8 years or so our home had needed to be painted. The paint was falling off and the wood was rotting underneath. I frankly had gotten too busy, too lazy, and then too old and tired to deal with it. It was a problem too big for me to handle now. And my wife didn’t want me up on that ladder. I contacted a painter, and after he came out he let me know the wood work would need to be completed first. He gave me several names to contact, and I settled on Hammer Time Handyman Services. I called Mark Dahlgren, who came out with a crew and did a thorough professional job of replacing only what needed to be replaced. They were always on time, did a thorough and quick job, were courteous and affordable. I was most impressed with the quality of their work and will be sure to use them again. Here is a picture of the work after they were done, before the painting. As you can probably tell, there was a lot to repair and they kept me informed with each stage of the work. Now that the repair and painting is done, we essentially have a new home, at least on the outside.

  Through the years we have had multiple handyman services that were sometimes good and sometimes questionable. Hammer Time Handyman Services was referred by Mark from Calhoun Painting Services. Personally this was the best service we have ever had to date in all the 28 years we have lived in our home. The tasks involved placement for indoor and outdoor electrical outlets, and outdoor light fixtures. Also, repair to exterior home woodwork and gutters. The attention to detail and professionalism was excellent. Mark and his team are the best and we will be using them again in the near future.
