I was having intermittent furnace issues, after being overcharged a flat rate for basic diagnostic and cleaning from a national company ($220 for 45 min), I called Harder Electrical. He was able to show up the same day I called, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly, keeping me up to date as he worked. His rates were very competitive and worked with me on the price. I would definitely recommend and plan on using his company for any additional plumbing/heating work.

Harder Electric came to our home today. We had not used them before. Tim, the electrician was wonderful. He explained what had to be done (adding some outlets for our TV on the wall ) and gave us some options that we hadn't thought of. He was very professional, thorough and cleaned up after he was done. Pricing was very reasonable, too. When I called to make the initial appointment, Dave, the owner was very friendly and I felt they really wanted our business. I will definitely use them again. Along with electric, they do air conditioning and heating. Great company!

Wanted to run electric from the house to the shed. I got a good recommendation from a neighbor, and saw the other reviews here. Got a verbal estimate in the summer, but claimed too busy due to HVAC work. We talked about the work to be done, and he stated "if you want a permit, I'll have to do" additional work to code. I said that I was patient and would call again when I needed it done. Reached out in October, and again too busy with HVAC, but would try to get on schedule. Finally had a date in mid-December. On the day before, I called to make sure there was a permit, as discussed. Told no, and said that work couldn't be scheduled until the new year. Told in the new year that work couldn't be scheduled for two more weeks. I asked for a revised , detailed, written estimate, and was given verbal number that was over 20% more than the original one, claiming it was what we discussed. After reading a review that included "came out the same day" I am really disgusted by being put off by this contractor. In the end, I felt that he just didn't want the work (or perhaps just never wants to do the extra permit application), and made it obvious enough that I walked away. Is it unreasonable to ask for a permit and a written estimate? I don't think so.
