  Customer service was a bit obnoxious and rude. It almost sounds as if they do not want business. The rep was trying everything to avoid business from saying he couldn't hear me (which he absolutely could because I called numerous places beforehand who heard me fine) to saying he couldn't explain the process on the phone. Furthermore they were charging $50 just to do an estimation for floor installation when every other service gives a free quote. Go to menards.

  Just about 2 weeks ago this June. My wife and I went to Home Depot at the Manhattan KS. store looking at carpet and hoping to find a carpet we liked and then have them do the 10 day instillation no charge plan. We found a carpet sat down with a flooring associate to set up the measuring. Well after the measuring was done of course the national call center called to confirm the sale and price no problem. They gave us the number of the company that would do the instillation the number was for the office in Illinois. They said we would be contacted in a couple days from the installers. Well a few days went by I called the number they gave me a number to there Kansas office. I got a hold of the regional rep and he gave me the number to the installer from Topeka. I called the installer and no return call for 2 days just wanted a time frame for the installation as I was handling the tear up and disposal of my carpet. I called back to the flooring number for the regional rep got someone else but the VP was there and the VP would call that installer. The Installer finally called said it might be after the 4th of July. This is were it gets good. Then yesterday Simon from Manhattan called to set up the installation day. I asked him about the 10 day installation time frame and he said that only the Lawrence store is doing that. I said when my wife and I came into the store they had signs all over the place saying 10 day installation. Simon said he would have to go check the floor to see if they had those signs out. I told him don't bother someone already did because my wife and I were there a couple a days ago. So now our carpet will be installed on the 18th of July and not so much as we are sorry for you thinking that there was a 10 day install at our store. once this carpet is in this will be the last time we get anything at HD they did a number on us a few yeas ago when we did our kitchen long story there. We thought we would give HD a second chance because of price and program. Once again the Manhattan store has failed us.   It's extremely difficult to find what you need in the store or someone to help you find that thing. Some things you would think go together are 'miles' apart.
