Dean in kitchen center helped me with my kitchen design. He walked me through the process, patiently worked with me over the phone and email, I got hickory wood Natural from American Woodwork, everything was done in about 3 weeks, I expect delivery on July 14, made my final order June 25ish, American wood is also great in communication and they are the best deal for your dollar spent...

This review is in regards to Home Depot's Carpet Department, Install and their management ...we purchased our carpet for our home during one of Home Depot's free installation promotions the same time Lowes was running the same deal. We waited the 7-10 days for the carpet to be cut. Before our install date we moved all the furniture out of our room, removed all the base boards that we were to replace anyway. We had to take down our closet system which meant clothes were strung over chairs and any spare place we could find. Our room was already a bare concrete floor so we were a quick easy install so ww thought...Until 4pm the day before not even 24 hours before we received a phone call needing to reschedule our install date because they were over booked and now down a man. Not pleased and starting to regret our choice with Home Depot we knew we still had the option to just cancel our order. We went and picked out carpet at Lowes. It wasn't until we spoke to a manager at Home Depot the caused us to change our mind by giving some of our money back. 2 weeks after our first install date we were scheduled for another install date. Two weeks with no closet and a mattress on concrete floor. This time they showed we verified the color and they began to lay down tack strips and padding but couldn't lay the carpet because it was 5" too short. Why the carpet wasn't measured before to double check I don't know but they were going to leave me with exposed nails and padding until they got the new carpet in (7-10 business days). I have small children and pets and the idea of another 2 weeks having to dodge nails in the floor was way worse then the feel of cold floor in the morning. Lucky my husband had the idea to ask that they at least lay the short carpet till the new carpet came in. The installers did lay the carpet and did a good job at it. The 7-10 business days rolled around and we received a call...this person wanted to verify how short the carpet was. More time went by and we received a notification that it was our install date only to be told we were sent that email by mistake. We spoke to Joan a manager at Home Depot and complained, she said let's get the carpet installed and then we can talk about compensation but still no install date. More time went by and We again stopped by and spoke with someone in the flooring department that then spent the time on the phone with corporate trying to figure out why we didn't have the replacement carpet yet. By now it had been a month since the short carpet had been layed. That would be 6 weeks with my house a disaster, my new closet system was waiting on the replacement carpet, my trim. Finally we received a call from the installers. Apparently we had been lost in the system. Our carpet was sitting somewhere and no one thought to think why an order hadn't been moved. The carpet was installed no complaints there. We went back to Home Depot just as Joan had said and talked with another manager. He was suppose to get with Joan and call my husband once they sorted everything out. A week goes by no call, so we stop by Home Depot again and speak to a different female manager. She too was suppose to sort things out with corporate and call my husband it's been another week. All these visited we were there buying material for our shop we are building for our business and our home we are remodeling that a majority of our materials have come from Home Depot. We shop at Home Depot because it's close to our home but tonight when we needed more lumber and trim we drove the extra miles to go to Lowes because while Home Depot did finally get us carpet management has shown that they just don't seem to care about us and I'd rather drive a little further. When we are ready to carpet the other bedrooms in our house we will not use Home Depot.
