  I called customer service to help give me some information on existing and future electric service to a parcel of land. I had lots of questions and fortunately was connected to a representative who was knowledgeable and courteous not only about the electric, but the area in general. If all customer service reps are of this caliber, Horry Electric is definitely doing something right!

  My husband and I live mid Town for a couple years while we looked for a home to buy. When we found one I never gave a thought to who the electricity company would be. Then I had to go to Horry Electric and they changed me 750.00 deposit and said they were holding that for 5yrs and of course not paying us any interest on that money. We sold and moved to Texas in 2017 to care for aging parent. I got a letter that they would be issuing capital credit payments for 2005/2020 well today I got a check for 2.44 what a joke. After 8 yrs of doing business. So I called them, they are only paying 100% for 2005 and something for 2020 and I didn't have service for either of those years. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with Horry Electric anymore. When we move back home we will definitely consider who our electricity comes from. Santee Corp over Horry Electric any day !!!!!
