Hahahaha! Google wants me to rate this place!!! Well, it ain't perfect, but it's mine! How's that?!!! It's orders of magnitude better than going or staying non-union. ....just sayin'.....
Response from the owner
That's perfect, brother. Sounds like family, which is what a Union truly is.

Our union hall has by far the BEST people! I’m responding to Ron Johnson , he left a review that is NOT TRUE! First of all Ron, Oregon State Law requires anyone doing electrical work in the State MUST! Have an Electrical license. It’s not up to the union to hold your hand and help you get one! That’s on you! Maybe you should’ve checked the laws BEFORE moving to Oregon.

I moved up here from California. I was a current member of I.B.E.W local 441 in good standing for over 11 years. I had a traveler letter in hand I went to sign the books and the guy informed me that I cannot sign because I wasn't licensed. Gave me a paper and sent me on my way. I used to be licensed in California but most companies don't require it so I let it expire. I was not welcome here, they don't want experience, they want money from taking tests. I was expecting "Hello brother! Yes please sign our books, we give you up to a year to get licensed to get you back on your feet!" Instead I got "Go away!" I now have a distaste for the union. Thanks.

Blaming the Union for your lack of preparation is not very brotherly. The law is the law and we don't get to decide what to do when you don't have the necessary state requirements. If you get a job working for a non-Union company before getting your license, you are working illegally, which is another thing that doesn't square with IBEW values. I'm certain that you were directed to the proper channels to get licensed which is unnecessary hand-holding for most JWs, but it's not unions you have a distaste for, it's people who don't hold your hand. We all call each other brother, sister, or family. None of us call the hall mommy or daddy.
