  Like most unions, If you are older than your mid 20's and have no formal experience good luck joining. You have to know the right people to get in...They'll pretty much just ignore you otherwise after they waste your time. I applied, took the test, passed the test, took the interview. After the interview they all shook my hand and told me I would hear from the school in a few weeks. Well that interview wass in October 2020, i never heard anything more... No email, mail, call anything. Don't know how many guys I talked to that wanted to join but never heard anything back. Things they had in common, older than mid twenties and no formal experience...Crazy how all these unions claim no experience needed but they won't take anyone without experience. There's plenty of people that want to join the trades but the unions won't accept them. It's upsetting coming from a family of union trade workers. And the pay doesn't keep up with inflation, every contract the pay drops...

  I truly admire and appreciate IBEW local 58. I was a member for more than 20 years. The current Business Manager and Reps have done an outstanding job bringing 58 to the pinnacle reputation it has earned and deserves. A special thank you to Ken Rosinski who's dedication and professionalism is always 110%. You can count on him in any given situation that needs his attention. He's among the many reasons I am proud to have been with 58.
