  The owner was very smug and rude when we inquired about help with our Simrad system/compass. Told us he wasn’t busy this week but after we told him about the boat (1985 Grand Banks trawler) he said he wasn’t interested in helping us out and had better things to do. Suggest you look elsewhere for help unless you have a shiny, expensive boat.

  Oh wow, I wasnt expecting that. I would have thought you would have been happy that we diagnosed your issue without a service call or fee. Two of us spent time with you, pinpointed the problem and provided advice for correcting the problem at no charge. One thing you overlooked in your review was the fact that I explained to you that although we were not terribly busy over the next couple of days, but had commitments later in the week. I also explained that I did not want to start something on your boat and not be able to finish it due to our upcoming projects. The relocation of an Autopilot compass is generally a very easy task, but sometimes other issues arise on older systems. I simply wanted to be able to give you my complete attention if such problems arose. I am sorry if there was any misunderstanding from my communication with you.

  Our GPS recently died and we went to Island Marine Services for advice on replacing our old unit. Steve, the owner, was very helpful explaining the different brands and what the best options were for our budget and installation requirements. While we went out for lunch, Steve installed our new Garmin and had it working before we returned. Highly recommend anyone needing electronics anything on your boat to visit Island Marine Services.

  I have used Island Marine Services for 25 years on various yachts and can only say top notch words about Steve Irwin and his crew! Responsive, accurate and most importantly the equipment works great and they stand behind what they do! I find one gets what they pay for and Island Marine delivers on what is promised!
