  5/16/21 Update: I have spoken to Duke mangers and they sent a landscaper to come fix the damage in the yard. In all fairness the landscaper fixed the yard beyond what I would have expected, including reseeding the damaged areas. While disappointed I had to complain about the work before anything was offered to make it right, overall, after the repair (including fixing the damage to my neighbor's yard), I am happier. However, the riser pipe that J&J installed still looks like trash and I haven't heard anything back from J&J regarding getting it corrected. Original Review: I would be very cautious before hiring J&J or agree to allow J&J do any work (if subcontracted). Very disappointing. J&J was subcontracted by Duke energy to run underground electric service to our house. I personally know a few good J&J workers from some previous construction jobs, so I initially had confidence in the work. I had many discussions both with the Duke project manager and J&J's project manage expressing my desire minimize damage to the yard beyond what would be necessary--even delaying the work a week for better ground conditions. However, when the crew to do the digging showed up and did the work made no attempt to minimize damage and they left yard completely torn up. It is hard to believe they did not intentionally attempt to destroy the yard as much as possible given they made no effort to grade the soil back out level. Just to create as much damage as possible? They drove into my neighbor's yard leaving large ruts and damage. (See 5/16 Update) Ignoring all that, they could not even hook up the feed conduit to the meter base straight. It looks like a DIY job.

  Jeff Tate of J and J Electrical incorrectly installed an electrical panel As a result the home did not have electricity in many outlets. The licensed electrician we then had to hire to correct the errors had to disassemble then reassemble the breaker box in order to restore power to the nonworking areas.
