  My grandmother and I contacted them 5 times in 2 years about the drainage ditches that they installed on Hanson Road and haven't maintained. Iwas told to "dig it out ourselves", "and we're not responsible". According to the Michigan drainage law of 63 there is to be an annual inspection and $5,000 per mile per year for maintenance and repair qllocated for those ditches. in order to fix it myself I would first have to have a permit from the county to do so as it is considered county property. I have nicely requested multiple times that this be inspected and fixed. The majority of the road is now in our yard and overflowed the garden plot we dug as well as washed out our driveway. Hopefully someone will be able to assist me with this.

  The road commission crew does an excellent job of maintaining 500+ miles of roads in the county, MANY of which are gravel, putting these gravel roads at the whim of Mother Nature, as heavy rains wash the gravel away. The winter snow plowing job is really well done. With more state money, and fewer logging trucks, it would be even better.
