At 5:45 pm, there was a loud pop and we smelled smoke in the basement coming from the panel box. We turned it off and called Kolb. Gerber came out about two hours later and told us we would need to replace the panel. He gave us the name and number of his manager and told us if we hadn't heard back by 9am, to call to ensure we were on the schedule as we didn't have electricity at all. The following day Gerber and Izzy arrived at my home and did a spectacular job replacing the panel, vacuuming up the mess AND FILLING IN THE DRYWALL. I have NEVER had an electrician who did that for us. Will be using Kolb for all our electric from now on. Thank you Gerber, Izzy and Kolb for getting us power back.

I highly recommend this company. As a single woman who owns her own home, I deal with a lot of contractors who treat me like I'm dumb or gullible. Kolb never did this, was extremely responsive, consistently on time for jobs, very reasonably priced, and when there was a problem with one of the pieces of equipment I had installed, they did their best to fix the problem quickly and did not try to charge me more even though it did take extra work on their part. I'd use them again in a hot second, and I'd suggest them to friends without hesitation.

Really strange billing practices. This is the first time I have worked with a contractor who can’t provide any bill or breakdown of the charges when asking for payment. The technician was very nice and capable, but throughout his time working at my home, he could not quantify how much the charges were going to be for me, and the charges were about double what I expected at the end. He was able to help with my electrical panel, my thermostat replacement, a bathroom exhaust fan, and was very capable. However, he told me that I would have to call the accountant to get a basic invoice. I called the office, and they said they did not have any access to that information for 24 to 48 hours. Very strange, and the woman who answered the phone for their “customer service“ was unfriendly. I will not be using them again.
