  I was very happy with my visit even though it wasn't on my account. My dad and mother were entitled to a capital funds rebate from several years ago and the employees were helpful and courteous.

  Suppose I just miss the days you could talk to local people. And not be stuck on the phone for choosing options. But everyone needs power so you don't have to be customer friendly.

  We own a small (700 Sq Ft) lake home in their service area, purchased fall 2018. We also own a larger home (5700 finished sq ft with unfinished basement) in the twin cities. Our power bill for 2-3 weekends per month is 2-3 times HIGHER than my everyday home! I thought something was wrong with the set up or bill. I called, nope the rates are just that high. It is obvious that they receive regular phone calls from concerned "members" as the customer service woman (Jessica?) rudely dismissed both myself and my husband when the rates were brought up. We are in the process drafting plans for a new cabin and have decided to invest in Solar. At this rate, with Lake Country Powers fees- it will pay for itself in only a handful of years. Wish I could switch but sadly, as others have mentioned, they have the monopoly in the north region of MN.
