  I needed a part for a transfer switch so that it would work well with my generator. The switch is the box that detects when the utility power goes out and starts up the generator, then shuts it down when the utility power is restored. Larry took a lot of time to determine that the switch could be used with the generator once the part was installed, then got me a price and made the arrangements to ship the part to me. He followed up professionally and courteously and made me feel like I was his most important customer even though I don't think he made any money from getting me the part. Very, very impressive customer service!

  Larry recently helped me set up a portable generator at my house. This included moving an outlet from the garage to the exterior. I had a great experience and can't imagine using anyone else for my future electric work. He's a clear communictor, patient, organized, and knowledgeable. The only reason I would not give him 5 stars is because I don't want him to be too busy the next time I need him.

  This past summer I decided to have a Generac standby generator installed at home. I am a meticulous person with a background in commercial construction. As a professional and a homeowner I have seen the work of both good and bad tradesmen, so I was very concerned about the standard of work the electrical contractor Generac recommended would perform. Larry Light, the owner of Light Electric and the installer of the generator exceeded my expectations on multiple levels. From the delivery of the generator to the test start up, Larry was available by phone to answer questions and plan visits to perform various steps in the installation process. His coordination with the subcontractors who poured the concrete slab needed to support the generator, and the propane company that provided the tank and fuel was excellent. As a result, all deadlines were met on time. This level of professionalism and efficiency is a rarity in a world where the majority of contractors start a job then fail to follow through on meeting deadlines and responding to homeowner phone calls. Lastly, the job site, both indoors and out, was left spotless. It was as if the generator had been there all along. I am a harsh critic who does not give praise easily. But in this case I can say without reservation or exaggeration that Larry's work was outstanding. Furthermore, he is a pleasant and positive person who is easy to talk to. What more can a homeowner ask for?
