GENERAC home generator Service BUYER BEWARE!!!! I will start off by saying I have been a Licensed General Contractor in the State of Florida for around 40 years. I have never written a review for a sub-contractor in my entire career. If I have a problem with a sub-contractor, I simply discuss the problem and the solution to give them a chance to correct it or I will not hire them in the future and will definitely not recommend them. Their reputations will weed them out over time usually. I am a Federally approved Veterans Administration builder as well. Most VA remodels and new construction require a home generator for medical needs of the veteran, therefore I require only the best in service, quality and skills. This is a life and death situation when a generator stops operating. That is why I feel compelled to write this post to make sure no one is a victim of this company. As such, I have a home generator at my personal home that was under warranty. Light Force Electric has installed and serviced generators for me over the course of the last 9 months so I felt I could trust them to take care of a warranty issue in a timely manner. I called in a service work order for Light Force Electric in June of 2021. A technician came to my home and provided me with a report that the generator had water in the generator stator. The fair question I asked the manager was "how can that be?" The housing of the generator is completely enclosed was 12 inches off the ground. I asked this question repeatedly and even called the manufacturer for answers. They recommended that the tech send an email describing the parts that were impacted and the cause of the issue. They promised they would assess the issue and respond to Light Force Electric in due time regarding the warranty. I passed this information to the manager of the company and was told that they would send the manufacturer documentation of the repair and their thoughts of causation. Two weeks later, I asked the manager for copy of the documentation and asked what the status was of the repair. I never received the documentation. Finally, I asked the manager what was his recommendation in regards to the repairs. He stated that I should just buy a new generator at a cost of $5,000 plus labor. I called multiple times over the period of the two and a half months, June to September (hurricane season) and realized I was not getting anywhere so I called a second Generac certified installer. The tech responded on September 30th. Within 2 hours of arrival, while I watched and gave no opinion, they found the problem. The Stator had a broken brass ring inside. The tech had Generac on the phone and the parts were on the way (new stator) for installation. The tech was apprised of the previous repair guess-timation by Light Force Electric and totally disagreed with the tech from this company. There was no signs of water or water deterioration which would be evident on the brass. It was only the brass ring inside the stator. This repair was originally estimated to be a $3 to 5,000 dollar repair by Light Force Electric. It has now become $000 due to the warranty and a reliable Generac installer. I pity the poor person who does not have the funds or income level to be scammed and defrauded by any service worker and if they will try this with me....knowing I am not going to accept such a diagnosis... BUYER BEWARE!!!!
