Hello everyone yes the people are great love the service. I have a but. The people that go here are obviously in need. The food is out of date I have received food that was ruined. It scared me because I knew children would be eating the same thing. If your helping the community why not get food that would not cause illness. I wasn't always in this situation and I pray that every family is lifted up. But do give if you know it's not good Because people are on a bind. I'm sorry. it can make people sick who don't even have health insurance to go to the Dr for good poisoning which is very painful If your gonna help step up and give to People in need the things that are good not expired. LCCI provides food to Limestone County residents. They are a network of 40+ area churches who provide a volunteer staff, in a nicely maintained building thru church tithes and offerings. As a part of LCCI's policies, they require proof of identification which proves residency, and some sort of proof of income. To provide enough food, they ask for a number of family members living in the household. Six times per year food is available to help families in Limestone County. They load the groceries for you, and will pray with you. I noticed a review posted that seems highly inaccurate. LCCI volunteers receive, check, mark, date and stock every single can, box, bottle, jar, and bag to insure NO food is expired or spoiled. LCCI is NOT allowed to distribute outdated food. If this happened, it was surely a rare.. did I say rare .. circumstance, and most certainly is not the standard LCCI strives towards. If this has happened, please return the food so they can make it right. Because perishable food donations are often fresh from a farmers crop, or someone's garden - they must be cooked pretty quickly! Most fresh foods are portioned each morning, Monday thru Friday. Note: LCCI can also provide financial assistance with rent or utilities. If you need other assistance, feel free to call LCCI and ask.

WHAT AN AMAZING AND CARING GROUP OF PEOPLE. THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY CHRISTIANS DOING THE LORD'S WORK, A THANKLESS JOB MET WITH UNFOUNDED CRITICISM. THEY VOLUNTEER THEIR OWN TIME TO SERVE THE NEEDY!!! YOU CAN TELL BY HOW FRIENDLY AND COMPASSIONATE THEY ARE THAT THEY ENJOY WHAT THEY DO. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT THE BEST EXPERIENCE COMING HERE FOR HELP. I PRAY GOD'S BLESSINGS OVER EACH ONE OF THEM.
