In the beginning of August 2019, I called Morrow Electric to pull a permit and to tell me what was needed, after a fire that occurred on the property. When Craig arrived, he immediately started saying that the last licensed electrician through the city did everything wrong and he was the one to fix all the mistakes. I was skeptical because he showed up in flip flops and basketball shorts, but he was on the city of Dayton's list of electricians so I thought nothing more about it until I had to explain to the homeowners that he was indeed a professional. A permit only cost $50, but he asked for $400. That was supposed to be for pulling the permit and to run some wires in the kitchen where the fire happened. The breaker panel was new but he insisted that we needed a bigger one. That was a lie because it past inspections before but he didn't know that. He was there a week before I asked him what was going on? He said the breakers was all wrong and the wiring was wrong and he needed to troubleshoot. He asked for another $900 so he could do his troubleshooting, and change out the breakers and run some wires in the bathroom which we never discussed. So, another week rolled by and I asked him again what was going on and he said that he would have to pull another permit. That was also a lie because I called the city and they had no idea what he was talking about. When I addressed Craig ( the owner) and also the one performing the work, he told me that he had a bunch of customers and he don't have time for this stuff. I asked him to write down and show me the worked that he performed for $1300. He wrote something on the back of a napkin or something and said that it was from the city. I knew it wasn't from the city because I'm in constant contact with them because I am working on several projects in the area. At that point I was done with his services. Myself and the homeowners filed a complaint with the city after he hung up on us for asking where did the money go? We did not see anything that was done by him. I also told him that we had to have the smoke detectors hard wired and he told me that it was not necessary at first and then came back later and said that the city wanted it, which I already knew. He tried to charge another $1500 just to install a few smoke detectors. I had another electrician come behind him and I have pics and documentation that Morrow Electric did not perform the work that he said he did. The new electrician was done with everything needed in less that 8 hours. I also found out that he has done this sort of thing quite often. He thinks since he is approved by the city that he can do whatever he wants. If you deal with him, make sure that you get other quotes because every other thing that comes out of his mouth is fabricated.
