Here is the deal. Below was my initial review on which I gave Mr. Electric 1 star. However, after I left that comment Mr. Electric called me up and refunded the money as they stated in the response to my initial post so I am changing my review to 4 stars. They were very professional on the follow up phone call, apologized and offered to refund the money. I suggested we could just meet in the middle with a reasonable charge as I really didn't expected the work they did to be free. They said no. They wanted to go above and beyond to fix things with me by refunding the whole thing. I don't feel right leaving this comment with one star as their customer service follow up made up for my initial negative experience. So I am changing the comment to 4 stars even though their follow up was definitely 5 stars so that the two experiences are taken in balance. I would like to say thank you to Mr. Electric in San Marcos for being authentic and generous in their follow up. First post- They say on their website they have upfront pricing and communicate well. They did not communicate well about arrival with my tenant or with me. They showed up to diagnose a problem with electric on a hot water heater. They did not inform me at all of pricing for figuring out what was wrong and fixing it. They spent one hour reconnecting wires that were disconnected by someone and looking at things that are possible wrong with the AC where they tightened two screws (which my tenant ask them to look at and they took a looked at without asking me- to their credit apparently there was just one charge for looking at both). They charged me $400. That is right $400 for 1 hour of work involving tightening a couple screws on reconnecting a couple wires. When I complained that $400 seemed really expensive compared to other electricians I have used before especially considering all they did was reconnect two wires they dropped the price $22. Their pricing structure is excessively high even when compared with the national average. I own several rental properties in the area and I will not use this company again if I have a choice.

A breaker in my box kept tripping causing all electricity to go out. Mr. Electric quoted me $449.00 for a bandaid or $6,737.00 and would have to wait at least two weeks to do the work. This took him 15 minutes. I refused. 30 minutes LTX Electric came out and found that the City's wiring was melting causing the breaker to trip. Mr. Electric is a rip off and the man was RUDE!

STAY AWAY from this company! They are full of gimmicks and quoted me $2,700 for a 2-hour repair I did not need. Then I spoke to another one of their technicians who wanted to charge me $ 129 for after hours to come out the next day to re-quote the first guy's mistake. Then tried to justify their high prices with a Advantage Program that cost you money to receive a discount. What I really needed was a disconnect only at my AC unit. I ended up paying $ 215 on a Saturday to someone else. If you want quality work at a quality price, do not call this company. They don't know how to be straight with people. Aggravating that people try to take advantage of you when your AC is out in Texas heat.

We're not out to take advantage of anyone with the use of gimmicks. The service professional that visited your property is new and still trying to price out our service correctly. This is out fault due to not providing enough training on our pricing and commitment to our customers. We apologize for your inconvenience and strive to do better in the future.
