  We are the buyers. In the purchase contract, one of conditions is to properly ground the GFCI in the bathroom. The seller hired N & E Electric and we got the receipt from them. At this time, 2 weeks after we have moved into the house. We had another electrician came in yesterday to fix a broken GFCI in the garage, which leads to a surprising finding that neutral and ground are shorted in bathroom GFCI to disguise some existing problem. This is totally illegal! and unsafe! Because GFCI will never trip in that way! Now if we want to make it right, a new line has to run thru the wall to the bathroom GFCI, which really should have been corrected when N & E Electric provided the service in the first place. We are not going back to them to re-do the work simply because they are not trustworthy! They have demonstrated that they would cut corner rather than do the right thing! However, we are looking at spending $400+ to fix this on our own.
