  The team at NORA work so hard to maintain service in the rugged mountains of Northern New Mexico. When weather hits and outages occur, their team is out in difficult and dangerous weather conditions and work around the clock until power is restored. I am truly grateful for everyone at NORA from the team in the office to the Lineman in the field. Thank you for all you do!

  If you believe that all New Mexico electric cooperatives are equal in their operation , you are mistaken. Northern Rio Arriba Electric Coop (aka NORA) is at the bottom of the pile. NORA and it's Board of Directors refuse to purchase it's members grid-tied solar electricity at a reasonable rate. A member of NORA who is a grid-tied solar electric producer will be paid the lowest rate possible per KWH, then NORA will charge back to you the highest rate possible. NORA would rather pay Tri-State Energy for it's coal based electric. To say that NORA is member owned and operated is a lie. If you have good environmental ethics and wish to become an solar electric producer with a solar electric grid tied system DON'T expect anything from NORA except negativity.

  My Wife and I would like to sincerely thank Vicente and Brandon for coming to out house Wednesday evening ,finding the problem that caused our power to be totally off, going down on the woods, climbing a pole and fixing it ! They had smiles on their faces and were very polite. They both responded immediately. NORA should be proud to have these two gentlemen working for them Once again Thanks!!! Kurt and Dianne Plouff
