  Mark was so great to work with. He was responsive and kind, and moved our appointment the morning of--he was so flexible. He did the work quickly and it came in under estimate. I would highly recommend Northside Electric!

  Mark and his team were excellent. We bought an 80 year old house and they were able to: Install LED can lights into the living room ceiling Install LED can lights into the foyer Install dimmer switches Adjust already installed outlets for the back stairs to actually work the light at the top of the stairs Install ethernet cabling throughout the house so we don't have to rely on wifi if we don't want And more! It's been almost a year and everything continues to work exceptionally well, no problems. In fact, when a custom light project the previous owners had done in the laundry room went out just a week or two ago, Mark was able to send John (sorry if I am getting your name wrong!) over the same day to rip the custom fixture out and replace it with several regular light bulbs. Pros: Extremely good communicator, whether it is about the feasibility of the project, the actions intended, or the options. Was happy to give a bid and the work with us on options so that we could pick and choose and really get what we wanted. We did end up adding another couple items as we went along (like an outdoor motion sensor light for the dog in the yard). Fantastic, neighborly attitude. Example 1: when the guys were in the ceiling space of the garage, they even helped us clear out a bunch of old packaging and such from the previous owner. Example 2: I made them coffee one day but forgot to warn them that it was a French press, so it had sediment, and one of the guys totally drank the whole cup, noticed the sediment based on his facial expression, and didn't say a word - absolute pro. Con: This is more of a heads up than an actual con. Mark clearly cares about coming through on his commitments. This was a con before hiring him because it could be hard to get him on the phone (it wasn't always, just occasionally) - he was super busy with commitments. Once hired, it was immediately obvious that he makes a big effort to meet those commitments, so the con became a pro and he returned every call immediately and even called us if they ran into any snag or to just keep us in the loop. Just a heads up in case you leave a message and don't hear back right away, I would bet he's making sure the current projects are done well, and his team is worth the wait. Very happy customers.

  I recently had a contractor removing a bulkhead in our kitchen area and he accidentally cut one live wire that needed to be repaired and found one wire that was unused and needed to be capped off. Seems like a pretty simple job. I called Wire One, was charged a $70 service fee, and was told it was a difficult issue and the estimate for the fix was almost $2000 and would result in 3 outlet boxes in my ceiling. Not ideal! I passed and called Northside Electric for a second opinion. They were friendly and professional on the phone, and the technician was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He quickly determined the problem was similar to what I thought it was, and a somewhat minor issue. He was here for about 2 hours, fixed the issue without leaving awkward outlet boxes in my ceiling, and even optimized a situation he noticed with another switch on the same wall. We were charged a couple hundred dollars, which was what we were expecting for the issue. They were honest about the issue we were having without trying to inflate it to increase revenue. I would highly recommend Northside Electric and will use them going forward for any future electrical issues.
