We had a great experience w/ this father son team. They were polite, fixed our issues fast, and the cost was totally reasonable; In fact, I hired them again! Perhaps the individual writing the "bad review" was having a bad day (?) IDK, but our experience was great and writing bad reviews is just NOT NICE & can ruin HARD WORKING small business owners reps. BE KIND & YOU WILL GET BETTER RESULTS ;) LP

The people that showed up all smelled like a combination of body odor, cigarettes, and beer. The assistant, a younger man who never said so much as a word to me, looked like he hadn't showered in at least a week. They were able to install the lights I asked for in three of the four rooms. They made a HUGE mess, which they didn't even attempt to clean up nor mitigate. The previously-mentioned younger man put his knee through my ceiling. Charles Parker - one of the owners - attempted to repair the ceiling, but failed to do so and also failed to "make it right" as he promised he would do so very many times. They cut a hole in my wall to install a switch without discussing it with me first. I had previously told them that I wanted all of the new lights to tie into the original switch. Apparently, they didn't listen, because a new hole and new switch were installed. This wouldn't have been too big of a deal, except for the fact that, aesthetically, the new switch was off-center to the other switch (that it was immediately next to) and smaller than the other switch. I was originally quoted $3200 for the 20 cans that I wanted installed, or $160/light. When the job was done, I was charged $2800 - too much. Since the owner wasn't there, I paid the bill and was given a receipt that wasn't itemized; it only read, "Can light installation". I contacted Charles to rectify the situation. He was less than forthcoming. I asked to be refunded the difference between what I paid and what I should have paid, based on the initial estimate that was given - $560. He promised to look into it and call me back. He did this to me three times. It wasn't until I threatened to call the Better Business Bureau that he finally agreed to refund part of my money - $400. The lights come on and my house hasn't burnt down. But, I did have to have them come out again to fix some of the lights because they weren't initially installed properly. The lights weren't secured to the joists and were just sitting on the ceiling. When they came back, they put their knee through my ceiling - again. Basically, I overpaid for bad work. Employ them at your own risk. **Edit** To be clear, I was NOT refunded $800. I was mailed a wrinkled check for $400 after calling and reminding Charles Parker on an almost daily basis that we had agreed to a refund. And, again, I had to threaten to contact the BBB and the state board of electricians before I got any kind of refund. Furthermore, despite promises to "make it right" after damaging my ceiling and failing to properly repair it, I've not been contacted in the interceding year with any offer of help. The owner is also lying about the way the damage happened - I heard the worker on the phone explaining that he (the fat guy that smelled like beer) had slipped and put his knee into my ceiling. He wasn't even allowed on the ladder after that. There was never any complaint about a mess - only the damage to my ceiling and the fact that, despite my instructions to the contrary, they tried to install a new switch in the wall for the can lights, broke the dry wall, tried to cover it up, and then gave me a blank stare when I told them that that was the exact opposite of what I wanted. I stand by my original review and again caution anyone: employ at your own risk.
Response from the owner
The bid was total price not per item price. $400.00 was taken off the original price because of not being able to put lights in the living room. An additional $400 was refunded for repairs. The reason the ceiling got damaged was the ceiling joist was not nailed properly and rolled when pressure was put on it. The mess was picked up as the project progressed, large canvas tarps and plastic drop cloth was placed over all furniture. A mess is to be expected after cutting that many holes in a ceiling. The lighting that was install was remodel style can lights, they do not attach to ceiling joist, and are held in place with spring clips against sheet rock. The total refund was $800....

Called yesterday and they came this morning. Fast, friendly and did a great job. Was able to solve our issue with recessed can lights just by checking the voltage. Finished so quickly I also had him install a chandelier while he was here. $125 for the hour he was here. Super pleased.
