Came home today to no electricity. (I'm in far east Cooke County) I called and had 2 repairmen here in less than an hour. They determined that the transformer was out and had to get a new one and a boom truck sent from Muenster. Total time from initial call to power fully restored was 2 hours and 20 minutes.  Awesome service!

We recently had a solar system installed that produces more energy than we consume. However, PenTex continues to charge us for any and all energy used when the sun is not shining (night time).  It is time for PenTex to reconsider their current policy and view of green/clean energy.  Their current practice hinders people from converting to solar/wind energy and therefore thwarts forward progress to a cleaner environment.  Thankfully Southern Solar has given us a discount to offset the current PenTex charges.

Response to PenTex: Thank you for your response. However, I posted this after speaking with John and getting an "in-depth" explanation of your current practice. I am glad that I did not speak with you in regards to my solar needs prior to installation, as it would have discouraged me from seeking a cleaner energy for our environment.  Other electric coops have altered their practices and policies to be more solar friendly. I encourage you to do the same. I find it interesting that you have removed my post from your facebook page. This indicates to me that you are aware of your of your unsound policy and practice.

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our Distributed Generation and Solar policies.  We certainly try to work with our members to best serve them when it comes to solar power.  We would be happy to hear from you again and go into detail with you regarding our Solar practices and policies.  Please give our office a call at 940-759-2211 if you have any inquiries or would like to have a more in-depth discussion.  We do advise our members discuss their solar needs with us prior to contacting any third party solar companies or having any solar installation to properly determine the types and sizes of solar systems needed for an individual home and individual usage.  We also buy back excess power from members at the same cost we buy it from our Generation and Transmission company.  We do appreciate your input and your rating.  This will motivate us further to do everything we can to best serve you, and all our members.

Response to response: Hello again. We wanted to thank you for your response and again apologize for your unhappiness in regards to our Solar policy. However, we do want to state that we have not deleted your posts on Facebook and have responded in them stating as much. We do not delete member's posts, rather we value all member input both good and bad.

Joined 10 years ago. In october I got a $12 refund. In november before the due date. Was cut over the $12.  Then had to pay almost $500 to get it all redone up. A huge deposit i was not required to pay 10 years ago. Now after they caused they rolling blackouts. They caused the pipes to burst I had origionally no issue keeping warm. Youll be gettin a bill. Also. I would like to know why a COOP is servicing outside its area selling to ERCOT which is causing these blackouts, as this is a COOP. It is customer owned not corporation owned. Damage to property due to neglegence is 100 pentex responsibility to cover the costs of l.

Additionally, we apologize for the ERCOT mandated rotating rolling outages that have taken place over the last few days. We have done everything in our power to best serve our member's needs with electricity while adhering to ERCOT's load shed mandate. We understand the frustration that comes with these sorts of situations involving rolling outages and property damage. To answer your final question, we don't serve or service anyone outside our service territory. We do not sell anything to ERCOT rather they manages the flow of electric power to more than 26 million Texas customers -- representing about 90 percent of the state’s electric load. As the independent system operator for the region, ERCOT schedules power on an electric grid that connects more than 46,500 miles of transmission lines and 680+ generation units. As previously mentioned please feel free to give us a call or reach out to us in some manner so we could discuss these items with you. Their service is great.  They went above and beyond to help me get power.  Cheaper than other electric companies I've used in the past, once you factor in all the included fees and other charges of other companies.  Cooperatives care and it showed.

I am aware ERCOT has mandated rolling outages. BUT PLEASE LEAVE THE PUMPS IN CALLISBURG RUNNING. Animals are dying and we are in dire need of water. PENTEX controls who loses power,  why are 95% of your customers without power!?!? ESPECIALLY NEEDED UTILITIES LIKE WATER.
