Pike working in the neighborhood and changing telephone poles. No qualms with their work generally, parking in the street, or use of the easements, all makes sense and very respectful. Following the pole replacement though, they just threw the old wires in my backyard (not even the yard with the pole in it/separated by a 6 foot fence too). Found a slew of wires and other garbage when my puppy ran back there and had been chewing on it. Called their customer service on MLK day, they indicated that they would have someone call me back that day. I waited three days for someone to call back but still no response received. Took the stack of garbage wires that I had in my trash to one of their parked trucks working on the road and gave them their garbage back. Poor customer service and responsiveness. Just a phone call back was what I would have liked and an offer to come get the wires.

Pike Electric is in my neighborhood replacing telephone poles & transferring wires. I realized this when my power suddenly went out & i lost my internet connection; looked outside & saw the trucks & workers in my backyard. It would have been nice to receive somesort of advanced warning, esp given the fact that i work from home. While i totally get that the job that Pike does is important, what gives them the right to determine the work i do is not? I walked out to ask the guys working how long the power would be off & they told me about 3 hours. & they told me that they did not know they would be in my neighborhood today. I find that hard to believe given the fact that when they turned the power off it also turned off the stop lights at a very busy intersection. So.....they just happen to have big STOP signs that are now at the intersection in their vehicles, right? Highly unlikely! My guess would be that they had to coordinate turning the intersection stop lights off with LG&E; which means they knew they were going to be in my neighborhood today. I would be having this conversation with someone at Pike Electric, however their phone has been busy for the last 3 hours. Another interesting tidbit, one of the workers stated that they used to leave notes on peoples doors & knock on doors to give people advanced warning the power was going to be turned off; however, Pike no longer wanted to pay employees to do that. NICE! Lucky for ne, no one in my household requires electricity for a medical device, i feel sorry for those people. Can you imagine being on an oxygen machine or any other life saving device & their power gets cut off without prior warning or advanced notice of any kind so other arrangements can be made? How sad.
