  Had PE come to my house to do some work in my kitchen related to a newly installed cooktop. They were great! Super professional, friendly, courteous, fair rates; honestly a really good experience all around. They are now my "go to" electricians for any issue, and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs that type of work.

  I had called these guys out in order to investigate an issue with lights flickering through out the house anytime there was draw on the circuits. (Lights would pulse when washing machine was running). The guy showed up on time, was clean cut, friendly and professional, though the apprentice that was supposed to be with him apparently opted to not show for the day, thus they adjusted the cost down to $150 for the diagnosis. After looking at the circuits, I was told that it was due to a high load and I should get a whole house surge protector. Later I turned off all large appliances and anything that used any real amount of power. I then still had the issue simply by plugging a clothes iron in. I called J. Hulick in for a second opinion. They were able to work out that the Neutral leg in my breaker box was not good. I then called porter electric back and offered to have them come back and look at it at my expense if I was wrong, or to give me a refund. They were not interested in coming back or trying to work out what happened. Rather than speaking to me himself the contractor had his secretary handle this (Who was at least polite, I felt bad for her) and say they weren't going to issue a refund or come revisit the problem. I have waited to leave this review until a fix was confirmed in order to continue to give them the benefit of the doubt. With the breaker box now replaced, everything is working as it should. In addition, after removing the neutral bar, there was evidence of arcing which could have caused a fire. Luckily for the owner, it's not worth litigating over $150, but this was definitely negligence. People make mistakes, and on the first instance I was OK with that, what was not OK was the unwillingness to come back and look at the issue. Maybe there was a miscommunication and I'm still open to pulling this review down if the owner would like to actually have some discourse and take an honest look at what's happened here.

  The team at Porter Electric has been great to work with! Everything from scheduling the appointment to payment went seamless. They were polite, attentive and professional. They asked several questions prior to beginning their work and made me feel comfortable. The outcome of their work was exactly what I had envisioned. My husband and I are very happy with the services we received and we will absolutely be a returning customer!
