  If you are looking for a contractor who takes no pride in the work being done, who will literally tell you that your opinion of the work being done in your home doesn't matter, who will refuse to fix anything you don't like and will default to placing a lien on your home rather than fix anything then this is your guy. Make sure you get everything in writing. Of course he'll just refuse to work for you if you do, but it will save you all the stress of being screwed by the sorriest contractor in the area. This is the kind of contractor that city inspectors are here to protect you from. He was nice enough when he came to quote the job, but once his guys had materials invested in the home, his attitude changed quickly. He billed 21 day prior to job completion and cussed when I said I wasn't paying him until it passed inspection and told me "you've been sitting on MY money for over 2 weeks". I could tell before this point that I had made a terrible mistake in hiring him and recorded this and any further conversations for legal protection. Extra holes everywhere, wires crisscrossing in wall cavities and then going the other way about ceiling, kinked and twisted wires pulled tight around corners. I get the feeling the guy that recommended this contractor has something against me. Find any other electrical contractor. There may be worse out there, but I haven't seen it yet.
