Richard at Rabalais is a gem!! Honest, diligent, knowledgeable. My A/C went out and my home warranty company referred me to Rabalais. Richard came promptly, diagnosed the problem, and then, even though he didn't have to--he could have just left it to the warranty company to take their time about it--he found the part I needed, contacted the warranty company on my behalf, and when they told him it would take them 3-5 business days to issue the PO for it, he refused to take no for an answer. He got that part in one day, came over and installed it the same day, was professional and polite even when I was hot and frustrated and at my wit's end. He is that rare thing nowadays: An honest craftsman who cares about his work and cares about his clients and knows how to get the job done. This was my first interaction with this company and they could not have been better or more admirably represented. I'm a single working mom. Knowing that I can trust the people who come to service my home is a blessing and service people like Richard are worth their weight in gold. Thank you, sincerely.

Here is a summary for those who don't have time to read everything: Rabalais misdiagnosed my thermostat's need to be rewired, causing me to have to pay out of pocket for another company to do the job correctly. Rabalais ordered the wrong thermostat, and then broke my expensive Lennox Thermostat by running 2x the voltage through it than it needed. Rabalais then took the thermostat to verify this, and refused to return the broken thermostat to me or reimburse me after testing it. The longer story: I had Rabalais out in April because my thermostat was broken and my home warranty company had them come out. They tried to install the thermostat, but after attempting to install it, they reported back to the home warranty company that new wiring needed to be done to install the thermostat (it later turned out that this was a misdiagnosis, and they just ordered the wrong thermostat because they didn't understand the system). I had to get the thermostat fixed as I had a very pregnant wife with no A/C in the summer, and my home warranty company said they would not cover the rewiring that Rabalais said was needed, but wasn't actually needed. So I called a company to install the thermostat that specialized in Lennox. After reviewing the thermostat, the new company realized that Rabalais not only had broken the thermostat by running twice the voltage through it than they should have (24v vs. 12v), buy had also ordered the wrong thermostat (probably why they thought it needed rewiring when it didn't). It also turned out that (surprise) the system did NOT need to be rewired like Rabalais diagnosed to my home warranty company. I know this because the new A/C company was able to install a Lennox thermostat without rewiring, which would have been impossible if rewiring was actually needed to make the thermostat work. After calling and texting the rep with Rabalais, they said that they would test the thermostat and reimburse me after testing it. They picked it up to test, but after months of no follow up and me having to repeatedly call and text, and them giving me the run around about how busy they are with other projects, they told me that "the thermostat worked fine", but that they are REFUSING to return it to me. If it worked, why would they refuse to return it? Obviously they are withholding evidence of their incompetence. This company is incompetent and dishonest!
Response from the owner
We left Mr Faskas thermostat at his home. We did not misdiagnose the problem . He had a faulty thermostat and we requested his HOME WARRANTY COMPANY supply a new one. The one they ordered had an additional bud module that required additional wiring. It was the updated and current version of the older model thermostat he had in his system. We quoted him a price to run a new wire and hook up the updated thermostat which he declined . His new thermostat was returned as per the home warranty companies request because they purchased it and Mr Faskas went outside their warranty company to get it fixed. In short we diagnosed the problem as a subcontractor of the home warranty company. . The homeowner needs to speak with their home warranty as to their thermostat which home warranty paid for and requests back. We are confident that our technicians properly diagnosed the problem.

This company and its workers, have been the most helpful through this AC nightmare we’ve been going through (won’t get into that), but I will say, these people have been the only ones coming up with solutions that actually not only know what they’re doing, BUT ACTUALLY CARE! That makes the world of difference and it’s nice having workers in your home that help you feel at ease and like matters are in good hands. We’re beyond grateful for the great customer service! I wish we had gotten the names of everyone who helped us, but the two that were here today was Jason K, & Frank L! Thank you fellas!
