  Power goes off at 9.00 Saturday night I waited patently until 1.00 am Sunday morning to call oh we're sorry it will be on shortly crews are working on it. 7.00 am sunday morning I call back have you already reported the power outage uh yeah like 6 hours ago. We are very sorry crews are working and have been working all night. November and December my power bill was double what it usually is for winter months but I paid it now I have to wait over 10 hours just to be told they are sorry and crews are working on it . I literally hate this company. 400 dollar deposit even though my credit is good.Sorry service when power is out. Takes crews forever to get anything fixed. Very overpriced but what can you do!!!!!

  Power cut off without warning. Paid for with credit card. Now they have my money and I have no power. Waiting on someone to turn my power on. I have been with REMC for 27 years. Never missed payments. The small community owned coop is dead. Corporate greed has filtered down to Rutherford county. Gone are the days when REMC were your friends and neighbors. Now they don’t care. Used to someone in Forest City office would say”Hey they’ve never missed a payment. I wonder if they are okay?” Now if they don’t have your money they cut your power. Even if they do have your money you are at their mercy. And mercy seems to be lacking these days.

  It’s a shame that during a pandemic that you get away with charging outrageous fees for people already having a hard time. Then you tack on extra charges for not having it paid two days before due date? Wrong! Government needs to do something about this!
