RK is one of, if not the best mechanical engineering firms this side of the Mississippi River! I am a project foreman working out at DIA, at the moment. RK has always made me feel like I matter. They are always ready to reward and promote individuals who possess certain abilities and traits. I Highly recommend submitting your resume if you are interested in pursuing a career in the industry! 😉

I’m currently Working at this company, the Apprenticeship program is nice but I wish they would teach the Apprentices how to properly do things in the Skills Lab aka Shop. I thought it would be putting things together in the class and also being able to learn efficiently, Visually, hands on etc. Some foreman are nice and some are just rude for no reason and I noticed that they do that to all Apprentices because they are new people working at RK, this company should be held accountable for the actions of the Foreman. The Black Hats AKA Superintendents are the ones who actually look out for all Apprentices which is surprising because if they look out for the New Employees aka ALL Appreciates shouldn’t the foreman care and actually help teach the Apprentices, support the ones who may or may not understand what they are doing because it could be their first time or maybe they worked in construction before. But back to the Apprenticeship Program itself, it is a good Apprenticeship program, the only complaint I have is that if it’s supposed to be a class, skills lab aka shop, shouldn’t they be teaching the students how to do their particular trade and doing hands on in the class room as well and not just ONLY on the Job site where some may find it difficult to do so when it’s their first time. I would actually like if the Class had hand hands on because for some newer Apprentices who come in, it would help them out a lot and not struggle with what trade they want to get into. Over all the Company is Good, just wish they wouldn’t move Apprentices all around Colorado just to get to another job site that they are unaware of being put because there may or may not be enough work to do at a particular Job Site.

Mishon, First, I want to thank you for being so forthcoming and honest with your feedback about your experience in the field and as part of your time in our Apprenticeship Program. It is this type of thoughtful and constructive feedback that will allow us to continue to improve and enhance our culture here at RK. I have shared your comments with our Apprenticeship and Operations team, so they are both currently reviewing your comments to see where we might be able to make some changes to impact our other Apprentices. A few of your comments shared that we are focused on are: 1.) moving Apprentices to jobsites around CO, 2.) the impact of Foreman on Apprentices and how we help can improve this relationship, 3.) and the fact that Apprentices feel supported by Black Hats. I would love to check back in with you as you continue through your second year of school. If there are any other pieces of feedback you want to share as you continue in the program, please feel free to reach out directly to me.
