  I chose Smith Electric in Cookeville because of its 5 star rating. The ratings must not have included business practices, because that is my biggest concern with their services. When I called to schedule an appointment, I asked for an estimated cost for what I needed done because I am retired and don’t have money to waste. I was told that they cannot give estimates because they don’t know what the work will entail in my home. I also was not told that they will not accept charge cards, so when I went to pay, I got a shock with a $1,700 bill for 15 hours of work and they would only accept cash or checks! The bill itemized the charge for the electricians at $45/hr for each and they sent two. If they would have told me that when I asked about a quote, I could have stopped the work when the costs reached my budget and had them come back to do more projects the following month. And if they had told me up front that they didn’t accept credit cards, I could have gone to another company. The electricians were pleasant and competent.

  Smith Electric 7 new outdoor flood lights, 4 new copper Smith ceiling lights, 2 new front door copper smith lights, 1 new backdoor copper smith light, 1 new atrium door copper Smith light, 1 new breakfast room Chandler, 2 new ceiling fans in bedrooms, 2 new ceiling units (light, fan, heat) in bathrooms. It only took 2 people 1 1/2 days. Everything works really good. This is the 1st online recommendation I have made. Yes they EARNED a 5.

  We had two chandeliers exchanged on high ceilings. Eddie, the project manager was kind and responsive and the turnaround time for an appointment was within a week! Chris and David, the team who came out were phenomenal. On time, friendly, professional, and clearly experts in the field. The job was done efficiently and they were quite helpful and patient with attention to detail. Would highly recommend Smith electric and we will definitely call them for future needs!
