  Giant monopoly in South Jersey that preys on the citizens and uses them as their own personal piggy bank. Outrageous prices, "faulty meters" that take months if not years to replace, you name it. Perfect personal experience example: My electric bill in ANY other dwelling has NEVER exceeded $200. Somehow, when I moved to my new residence in August of 2017 my bill was in the $300/$400 range. I complained. They did not care. Then, I received a $900 bill in December of 2017. I don't even put up Christmas lights! I refused to pay it. They shut my electric. I threatened to call AC Press. Magically, my bill was "forgiven", and then I received $500 & $600 bills! Outrageous for a regular 3 bedroom home with 2 occupants. After a LENGTHY back and forth for MONTHS they FINALLY changed my meter in AUGUST of 2018- an entire YEAR since I first complained of this issue. After the change, my bill was in the $100-$150 range. Think they'll reimburse the YEAR of $500/$600 bills? Think again. Way to extort a single mom! Also, magically, my bill has begun to creep up to the $200/$300 range again. I hate- no, loathe!- this company. It is COMPLETELY greed and poor politics. Our governors pocket our tax money, I'm sorry... Our governor's "misappropriate" our tax funds and they rake the electric prices up to recoup. There are NO competitors. This is the DEFINITION of a monopoly. How this is legal, I'll never know, but so long as my community keeps "voting in" crooks the practice will continue. Personally, I think we should band together for a class action lawsuit and stick it to the man!
