I made the mistake of going to Home Depot across the street first. They were rude and not helpful at all. However Brent or maybe Brett in the Kitchen Cabinet department at Menards was a real gem. Although he didn't have what I needed he listened to my needs and helped me brainstorm what else I could do. Excellent customer service!

This was only the second time since the store's opening that I have been inside .  I have always heard what selection they have at Menard's. I was disappointed. Yes, they have a lot of "things" but lack variety of the items they do gave. Only two kinds of water softener salt and 8 whole refrigerator selections. No one acknowledged me, much less offered to help. Very disappointing.

From a Covid perspective, they appeared compliant with masks in the front of the store but towards the back both customers and employees slowly ignored.

Be aware of a rude young woman who works in the blind/rug area. Purchased a blind from Menards and brought it back today (10/30) around 12:45pm because it needed to be trimmed. I went to the customer service desk and told the woman in customer service that I needed to have it trimmed a few inches or return the blind. I was told to take the blind to the back and see if it could be cut to size.  So after waiting 10 minutes and having to ask two employees, a female employee with black hair was sent to cut it. As soon as she walked over to me she had an attitude. I told her that I was sent back by customer service. She was very rude and unprofessional and told me that they don't cut the particular blind I purchased because it is the "cheap kind". She had no reason to comment on the price of them, which was very rude and just poor customer service. She proceeded to comment twice how cheap these particular blinds are. Lowe's, home Depot and the Evendale menards location provide better customer service and don't employ people who insult their customers. Would give zero stars if I could.

Nice store with a good selection. They sell some food and junk not normally found in a hardware store, and that is nice.

Unfortunately, they employ this trick where the prices are above average, but they offer an 11% rebate. So, the customer is expected to fill out a rebate and deal with that hassle - every time you buy anything. The rebate is in the form of a store credit, not cash back. If you forget, or don't want to hassle with the rebate, then you just overpaid for your items. It would be so much easier for everyone if the store just lowered the prices by 11% and stop harassing the customers.

At most hardware stores, if you return something without a receipt, you just give your credit card to the clerk, they look it up, and do the return all at once. Quick and easy.

Not here. At Menards, you must wait in line to use the self-service computer and look up the receipt yourself. Then, you must wait in the return line to actually do the return. Employees say they are unable to look up a receipt, and customers MUST use the self-service computer. When I visited, I was the only customer in the return area. I told them that I was unwilling to use the self-service computer and asked if they could look up my receipt for me. They refused.

When you return items here, it takes several days before the refund appears in your bank. At competing stores, the refund appears the same day. This may not be a big problem, but it is another to avoid this place.

I like the selection here, but because I don't like the rebate trickery and the returns hassle, I will always visit the other hardware stores first.
