Had my car towed in Saturday morning. Called on Monday he said he would get a diagnostic that day and call me back. Didn’t receive a call until today “Thursday” just for him to say “there’s a lot wrong with your car but I don’t have the tools or diagnostic to help you” at least he referred me a different mechanic but would’ve been nice to know Monday when I called up and said the type of car I drive “VW” that he didn’t have the tools to work on that kind of car. Now I have to pay for another tow with no answers still.

Yikes. After having my alternator replaced by a mobile mechanic, I took my car to them because I had to jump it to start it. It kept needing to be jumped. Jay was not working @ Poor Man's that day. After a couple of hours of waiting, Eddy's @ Poor Man's told  me my battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced & then after a day of driving  in I had to jump the car to get it started again. I charged the battery overnight & took it back to Poor Man's. After having my car for 3 days, I called Eddy & he advised me that after charging the battery, all was good with my car. About 3 days later, the car completely stopped during rush hour on Veterans Memorial Parkway. I had it towed to Havana Electric & Louie fixed it....said my new alternator was not bolted correctly & was easy to fix if the mechanic knew what he was doing. Needless to say,  I will never go back to Poor Man's Auto Repair!

Having trouble with my 2000 Keep Wrangler and Eddy looked after me right away.  Got the job done properly and quickly.  Extremely fair pricing.  Definitely using them again.  Highly recommend!

I have been getting oil changes, car service etc etc by Eddie,  Jay and the crew for over 20 years. They are a great bunch of lade, good rumored ,always friendly and their prices are usually the best in Cape Coral

I've had good luck in the past with this shop, good prices but this last visit was very bad now that Jay is not there everyday.

Jay was not in the day I requested rear bearings and leaf springs be installed, vehicle was finished for a good price on time but the bearings made noise, leaked and the leaf spring bolts had never tightened fully and a shock was loose, after tightening up the bolts I returned to see what happened I was put last in line and when I returned at 4 pm Eddy jumped up and said I was just about to pull it in, I was told I needed 1 axle without pulling the axle to check for wear. I left deciding to talk to Jay about a refund because If an axle was needed I should have been informed before the first appointment was finished and paid for.

Next day jay agreed to a partial refund for the price of the leaking axle seal and bearing and we parted ways, I believe he is a good tech but come to find out this weekend when replacing my own bearing they left an old roller from the previous bearing in the tube along with metal filings..bad work.

So unfortunately yes... now a bad review is for sure warrented and all of my money should have been returned, accidents happen I'm a tech too but this was beyond bad. go only on days when jay the owner is in because if you don't work on cars like myself this was a nightmare waiting to happen.
