  I use Shay Electric for all of our electrical work in our home. Mike Sorensen is my guy. He is great. Yes, it's expensive. All electricians are expensive. I trust Mike to do the right thing, suggest to me what needs to be done. I have used other electricians over the years and I am sticking with Shay. I can't say enough good things about Mike Sorensen and Shay. Always polite; always prompt; always doing just what I need.

  Wonderful personable service through the years! This company is the best in the area for all of your electric needs. We have had personal as well as business service and have always been happy with their prompt, professional manner. Would recommend Shay Electric to anyone who needs electrical work of any capacity! The owner is also a great, hands-on gentleman.

  Just like the other comments.. they OVER CHARGE for labor hours! I work for a very large firm and we have our visitors sign in and out when they enter and leave the premises. So I have a log of when Shay was her. of the 2 times I used them, I caught them overcharging by 1.5 hours! I called them and they said the min service call was an hour I asked why am I being charged additional. They got so upset with me and adjusted it. This last time, he told me that he would adjust it, but to find someone else to do the work, OBVIOUSLY! I ws speaking to Jim each time. He is a very rude man, and not a professional at all! Stay away from Shay!! They may be cheaper than the rest, but they certainly will rip you off and you will end up paying the same with the legit companys!! Seriously folks. STAY AWAY FROM SHAY!!! Or if you want to try them out, make them sign an in and out book, keep track of their time, they are guaranteed to over charge you!! He had the nerve to say they had drive time to add, I laughed and said we are both in Iowa City, you're going to chanrge me an hour and half drive time?? Yea, he didn't like that!! So one last time, STAY AWAY FROM SHAY!!!!
