  I am not someone who normally writes reviews, but after having communicated with Mike via email, I recommend him without hesitation as someone who is extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. After reading Mike’s great reviews, I contacted him through his website contact form to get an estimate for an installation of a manual transfer switch. I initially received an email response stating that because of Covid-19, and wanting to stay safe, he was temporarily closed. Although disappointed, I certainly understood, as he works in a profession that entails working inside strangers’ homes. Thus, I thanked him for responding, and did not expect to hear anything further from him. However, a few hours later, I received a lengthy email from Mike in which he expressed how he did not want to see me get price gouged by others I was considering, and told me all the parts that were necessary, and how much those parts and installation should cost. He even gave me recommendations for the parts so that I could order them myself, and have estimates for just installation. By Mike’s actions of offering unsolicited advice to someone he did not even know, I wholeheartedly recommend Mike as someone you should consider when looking for an electrician in Northern Virginia. Although I cannot comment on Mike’s work, I have no doubt that it is top notch, based on his other reviews, and the knowledge he displayed when communicating with me.

  The Electrical Medic (Mike Venable) is my “go to guy” for all of my electrical needs, whether repairs or new installs. Have used The Electrical Medic on both residential and commercial buildings and I highly recommend that you do too. Mike is extremely knowledgeable, and very creative in resolving challenging problems. He is responsive, timely, efficient and reasonably priced. He needs to be No. 1 on your “dance card” when you are faced with either the simplest or most difficult of electrical challenges. Give him a call – you’ll be glad you did.

  Mike did a great job installing a new electrical outlet to fit the power cord for a new dryer i had just bought. He showed where the interior of the old outlet had some overheating issues and dealt with the problem. Showed up on time, quick work, and even fixed (no charge) the louvered door closing the laundry space which had derailed (not by him). Small thing but greatly appreciated. I will definitely call him for future electrical work!
